An exercise in relationship Management PDF Print E-mail

Well, oddly enough, I am not referring to customer relationship management - a business disciple in which the customer is treated as a pray being fed and petted until slaughter day, but I am referring to managing the relationships you are involved in, with the ones you love, hate, can't stand, and more importantly, those who pet you.

There is such a thing as time management, business management, and now I am introducing relationship management. Start by arbitrary listing ten or so people most relevant to you, next to each describe in three words their relationship with you, this might seem as a pointless exercise, but I have discovered that the words I used are not as rich as I want them to be, I have several professional, lesser friendships, and the least family. This indicates that I care more about my career rather than family and hence those persons – and relationships – are more important to me.

Now, whether that is true or not is something I'll have to work on, but the point I am laying down here is that there are people whom we think we care enough about, only to discover that we are do not give them and our relationship with them the attention it deserves, providing an opportunity for managing our relationships with these people and making these relationships, and the description of thereof, richer.
