Electricity, phone, internet, mobile, water, credit card, gas, rent, car installments, and student loan installments, are the bills my friend Walter has to pay every month, ranging between 2200$ - 2500$ every month, leaving him less than 800$ dollars to spend on everything else every month. Life in DC is rough, the city, noise, traffic, stress, and annoyance is taxing his life. He does all these sports and fitness routines and yoga stuff just to cope up. I, on the other hand, am a fat coach potato; my exercise is shopping for groceries, and racing my colleagues out of the office at 4.30. I get four bills every month, and I pay the four of them for less than 200$, leaving 800$ to spend on everything else, and I live in Sana'a. I enjoy a trip to the DC as much as the next guy, but I just can't stand those lines at the metro, or the thousands of traffic lights and scratch-less cars. I guess I have become too accustomed to being a Yemeni. Maybe 20 or 30 years later, I would look on my life and say I enjoyed a better life than that of Walter, or regret an opportunity to become Walter? I don't know, what do you think? Views: 430
