Not long ago, I was attending a conference in Washington D.C  to participate in a discussion series about the effective handling and management of Microfinance projects with a business development approach. I do not remember everything that was said during the discussions, except for one phrase that never dropped out of my mind. “Yemenis are the best manpower in the region of Middle East and North Africa” said an American Businessman during his presentation.

To tell the truth, I was proud to hear that, but with a little embarrassment, since that man made it clear earlier that Yemen is suffering from a high unemployment rate. 

I know, for sure, that Yemen has an abundant labor with a lot of potential to be one of the most skilled labors in the region, if managed well.

Yemen HR was created solely to reach that vision of helping Yemeni labor to build its maximum capacity and to employ all the skills and potential in the benefit of the overall economy of Yemen. With the help of several enthusiastic young people from Yemen, we launched the first phase of the project as a communication channel between Yemeni employers and job seekers from all around Yemen and the World. Yemen HR website (www.yemenhr.com) is yet a one step forward in the thousand mile journey to reach its goals and objectives. We are optimistic that in no time, we will be able to help create a more promising opportunities for thousands of Yemenis who could do better with their skills if given the hope and the chance.

Today, June 30^th, marks the 20^th day since the launch of Yemen HR on the web. We have posted over a hundred job opportunity, and were able to reach more than six thousand people over the last three weeks. Amazingly enough, the reaction we got from our visitors was another encouragement to hope for more in the next coming months. We, as you read, have reach over twenty-one thousand visit for the last twenty days, an average of one thousand visits per day.

Employing the Yemeni labor where it fits is an important factor for our economy to correct itself, and we –at Yemen HR- hope that our efforts play a role in that area.
